Year 3 conducted an examination into the many characteristics of rocks during our most recent science class. We put up research stations to examine three distinct properties: buoyancy, permeability, and hardness. The children made predictions about what they may learn before we started our inquiry. Next, we attempted to leave markings on rocks using a nail to determine their hardness. In order to determine how much water rock samples might absorb and retain, we examined their absorption. Lastly, we were able to compare the density of various samples by analyzing the buoyancy of rocks. The children shared their results during the subsequent discussion.
