Preparing Our Classroom for Advent

A post in our latest news section.

This week, the children helped to plan and change our classroom focal point to welcome the season of Advent. They thought carefully about each element, discussing the meaning behind the purple cloth, the Advent wreath, and the Nativity scene, which has been prepared ready for Christmas, but without baby Jesus at this stage.

The children showed a thoughtful understanding of how Advent is a time of waiting and preparation. They spoke sensitively about why each part of the focal point is important and how it helps us to reflect and prepare our hearts as we journey towards Christmas.

It was lovely to see the children take such care and pride in creating a calm and meaningful space that will support our Advent reflections over the coming weeks.
