On Friday, Year 3 took part in our Celebration of the Word in the Gospel Garden. We listened to the Gospel of Luke (Luke 24:13-35) from the New Testament, known as ‘The Walk to Emmaus’. The story describes two disciples walking from Jerusalem to Emmaus, where they encounter the risen Jesus. The children reflected on how the disciples initially didn’t recognise Jesus and how they felt when they did recognise him. We shared thoughtful ideas about how we would feel if we met Jesus and what we would say to Him.

We ended our Celebration of the Word with a prayer, asking Jesus to help us to be inspired to treat each other with respect, sharing generously from what we have and working together to build a better world.
