It was wonderful to see how immersive Year 5 were with World Book Day and they turned out in some fabulous outfits.

Our morning started off with us listening to Barbara Henderson – the author of our clas text ‘Chessmen Thief’ – discuss her book and answer questions. It was interesting to hear about what inspired her to write the book and the challenges she faced in doing so.

In the afternoon, we designed book-inspired art in a variety of ways. It was lovely to see the creative array of books being presented on our plates.
