Holy Island Day 02

A post in our latest news section.

After a lovely sleep we woke nice a early this morning. We had cereal followed by beans on toast for our breakfasts along with a lovely cup of tea. Due to an impromptu down pour, we sat in the lunch hall and made bracelets that are to be sold at Stellafest in a couple of weeks time. Some of us braved the rain to have a game of table tennis. When the clouds and the rain cleared we were able to go out on to the field to play some sporting games. There was lots to do including football, rounders, throwing the howlers and some gymnastics. After this, we had our packed lunches and headed down to the harbour to board the boat for our Farne Islands trip. Aboard the boat we were all given life jackets to help keep us safe, however, some of us found them too comfy and fell asleep whilst in them. The boat took us to see Grace Darlings lighthouse as well as all of the wildlife that the Farne Islands have to offer. We were back in time to watch the England vs Denmark match which we watched on the TV in the lunch hall. At half time, we were able to have our tea which was followed by ice-cream. Next, we walked to St Cuthbert’s beach where we searched for St Cuthbert’s beads. There was also lots of wild life in the rock pools such as crabs and clams. Once we were back at camp, we finished the night off with lovely, warm hot chocolate and some biscuits. We were all very tired and are now safely tucked up in bed. Night, night from Holy Island. See you all soon.
